2011 Vintage - Jolly Pumpkin Fuego del Autunmo ("fire of autumn") is a seasonal Biere de Garde, available in the fall in bottles, casks, and on-tap. This rare style ale is 6.10% ABV, and can be stashed in the cellar for a few years to age. Fuego del Autunmo pours out a dark, hazy gold with a creamy, clinging white head that leaves solid lacing behind. The nose is of faint apples, spices, oak, caramel, roasted nuts malts and wild yeast. The taste of this- Biere de Gard is complex, offering minerals, lemon peel, caramel, toast, gentle spices (cinnamon & nutmeg perhaps), roasted chestnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, pecans, must, oak, cider vinegar, and lactic yeast funkiness, which leads to a dry earthy finish. Jolly Pumpkin Fuego del Autunmo pairs nicely with Indian or Middle Eastern cuisine, nutty and tangy cheeses, salads, fish, shellfish, or as an Aperitif. Try this autumn fire in your tulip or oversized wine glass at 45-50 degrees F.
