Gueuzerie Tilquin is a Gueuze style beer from Gueze Tilquin brewery in Belgium. It's 4.80% ABV and you'll find it on a rotating schedule in growlers and on-tap. A spontaneously fermented beer, it's produced by blending a low alcohol lambic (called Meerts) and 1 and 2 year old lambics, then fermented and aged in oak barrels. Unfiltered and unpasteurized, Gueuzerie Tilquin pours out a cloudy, orange-amber with a foamy little head that lasts. The nose of Gueuzerie Tilquin is unique, with sour funk opening to tarty white grapes, lemongrass, and spiced citrus notes. Gueze is a rare and tricky beer style; this one tastes like it smells, with citrus tartness and sour aspects leading to a fruity, herbal and woody earth aftertaste that lingers. Try pairing Gueuzerie Tilquin with buttery or sharp cheeses. This one sips best from a flute, snifter, stange, or tulip at 50-55°F.
