Founders Centennial is the brewery's most successful American IPA; it's been chosen as a benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification Program, which is used in American based beer judging. Founders brews this 7.2% ABV ale with dry hops, especially citrus. Centennial pours out a clear copper with a short white head that laces the pint glass. This IPA smells of hops, tangerine and floral, and its taste follows this aroma, offering citrus and floral tones above a caramel malt sweetness-this ale has 65 IBU, so it is a little bitter towards the end, along with a pleasant grapefruit perkiness. Centennial has a full body, and can be found year-round in bottles, growlers, casks, and on-tap. Founders Centennial pairs well with spicy foods: curry or thai, sharp and pungent cheeses, or poultry and seafood cuisine. Try this IPA in a pint glass or mug at around 45-50F.
