Named after a Willa Cather novel, My Antonia is an American Double/Imperial Pilsner from Dogfish Head Craft Brewery. My Antonia started out as a collaboration beer with Birra del Borgooutside Rome, Italy; in 2010, Dogfish Head began brewing My Antonia in Delaware for U.S. distribution. This 7.5% ABV ale is available in rotating shifts in bottles, growlers, and on-tap. A continuously hopped brew, My Antonia pours out a light honey color, with an inch and a half high creamy white head that leaves lots of lacing on your pint glass. The nose is of floral hops and citrus hops; the flavor starts with malt sweetness, grainy malts, and more floral and citrus hops towards the back. The finish is pleasantly bitter, and the body is full and well carbonated. Enjoy My Antonia in a Pilsner glass at 45-50 degrees F, and pair it with spicy cuisine (Curried, Thai, Pan Asian), sharp cheese, and gamey or grilled meats.
