Founders KBS 2013 can be purchased in the Founder KBS/Double Trouble Bundle
From Founders Brewing Co. in Michigan comes KBS, an imperial stout brewed with a huge amount of coffee and chocolates, "cave-aged" in oak bourbon barrels for a year, to bring out some bourbon low notes in the finish. KBS has a robust ABV of 11.2%, and 70 IBUs. Available annually in March, this beer comes in bottles, growlers, nitro-taps, casks, and if you're lucky, on tap at your local pub. KBS pours out an opaque dark brown with a slight mocha head, leaving lots of lacing on your glass. The aroma of the beer is strong coffee with subtle bourbon notes (from its year in a bourbon barrel), along with vanilla and dark chocolate; no booziness in this head. The taste is an enticing dark chocolate leading into more coffee, with balanced bitterness followed by a mild alcohol bite, from the bourbon (that's the tasty finish). KBS is a full bodied, creamy beer that finishes dry, and ages well in your beer cellar.
