Southern Tier IPA is the brewery's standard India Pale Ale, which they triple-hop for intensity. This American IPA is 7.30% ABV, and is available all year long in bottles, cans, casks, and on-tap. Southern Tier IPA pours out a light amber gold, with a tall foamy white head that laces the glass after (like an IPA should). Its nose offers scents of citrus hops, sweeter fruits, earthy and floral hops, and malts as the brew warms. Southern Tier IPA's taste is also firstly hops-earthen, grapefruit citrus-and then sweet malts. The alcohol is well disguised, this is a sessionable ale. Its had a medium fullness and moderate carbonation. Southern Tier IPA sips nicely from a pint glass, mug, or stein, at 45-50F. We suggest pairing this IPA with peppery, sharp, or pungent cheeses, or with poultry, fish, or shellfish. IPAs can also stand up next to strong tastes, like Thai or Vietnamese cuisine.
