Sixpoint Righteous Ale is a rye beer, which the Brooklyn based brewery produces all year long. Rye beers are usually love or hate for people; we like this one quite a bit. Sixpoint Righteous Ale pours out a reddish brown with a tall beige head that retains well and laces a little. At 6.40% ABV, the nose of this brew is of cereal grain sweetness (from the malts involved) with spicy rye underneath, and hints of fresh hops. Sixpoint Righteous Ale tastes a little hoppier than it smells, with citrus bitterness and more spicy, pungent rye notes, leading to a slightly alcohol infused finish. The mouthfeel is light and well carbonated. Enjoy this righteous brew in a pint glass, stange, or tumbler, at 45-50F. Sixpoint Righteous Ale comes in cans, bottles, growlers, casks, and on-tap. Try pairing it with German food, pork dishes, and peppery cheeses.
