2012 Vintage - Nebraska Hop God is the brewery's Belgian IPA; it's actually a hybrid, of a Belgian Tripel and a West Coast IPA, crafted with spices, tropical fruit, and citrus hops. Hop God is 9.00% ABV, with 101 IBUs; Nebraska Brewing Company makes this one year-round, in bottles, growlers, and on-tap. Hop God pours out a golden yellow, clear and effervescent, with lots of bubbles. The nose offers sweet esters, citrus hops, and scents of bubble gum. Hop God opens with smooth malts and citrus hops, revealing fruit esters and more citrus; the finish is clean with a pilsner sort of snap on the palate, little alcohol too. The body of this IPA is moderately full, with light carbonation, and a pleasant mouthfeel. Light tasting ales like Nebraska Hop God pair well with strong tastes-sharp, pungent, and tangy cheeses are a good bet, salads also pair well with IPAs. Try this one in a tulip, goblet, or oversized wine glass at 40-45F.
